July- Ruby

Just like diamonds, rubies are another one of the most recognizable and popular gemstones in the world. Their deep, rich color has been present throughout history, filled with many meanings. For instance, rubies most widely represent strength and courage of the wearer. It has also been associated with good luck and strong friendships. According to ancient Hindus, the ruby was considered to be the “king of all gems,” and has been of the utmost importance to many cultures all over the world.

August- Peridot

Less known by the world, peridot is a gorgeous shade of green, and is regarded by some to be the “evening emerald” for its similar shade of green. Legend has it that this gemstone could only be found in volcanic ashes, which were the teardrops of Pele, the volcano goddess. Legend also says that when the stone is set in pure gold, it would protect the wearer from any and all nightmares if worn to bed. Nowadays, peridot is associated with qualities pertaining to individual strength and perseverance.

September- Sapphire

Sapphires, with their rich, gorgeous blue shade, have traditionally been worn by kings and other royalty. It is from these historical accounts that we associate sapphires with royalty and dignity. But rather than symbolizing royalty, the sapphire actually represents purity and wisdom. In olden days, it was believed that venous snakes would die if they were placed in vessels and bowls made of the gemstone.
